"Treasures of the Greenbelt" is a documentary from 1986 that explores the Greenbelt of the San Francisco Bay Area as a one-of-a-kind combination of a metropolitan area and the countryside. This film showcases some of the existing cultures and practices of ranching and farming at the time, as well as the struggle to preserve the land upon which these farms exist. There is footage of individual farmers as well as some shots from the Dixon May Fair in Dixon, CA. We are also presented with shots of wildlife and educational programs teaching children about the environment. We are able to look into the past to see a moment in the larger environmental movement as well as catch a glimpse of California's environmental history.
